The original title of this blog came after I was ranted at in the student union by someone who felt that students were a 'drain on society'.
It's stuck since then.

What about the psychological effects of screening programs, and the risk of unnecessarily treating people who get false positives.
You can screen for too much, so you should only screen for the essential.
