I'm not saying I didn't enjoy V2007, but....

....it was a bit wet. And cold. And muddy.

And my tent is now sitting on the lawn at home trying to dry (and failing due to further rain...)

It's all good. I'm heading back to Yorkshire today for a dentist's appointment, so I shall have unbridled internet access (my parents finally caved and got WiFi!!!)

We Brits do try soooo hard to enjoy summer concerts, I suppose it wouldn't be the same if it were 'indoors if wet'!

I could just about hear "V" from my house... kind of like an annoying "just out of reach" sound that comes and goes.

Just out of interest, and reading Dill's comment on the previous post, were they allowing bottles of drink in? I'd heard that they weren't allowing any form of liquid in, regardless of containers. (Although it's not clear what their stand on pastes, residues, resins, slurries, oils etc.)

Off now to read some more backposts. ;-)

They were allowing containers in up to a certain size, as they had free drinking water sites around the arena. The problem with the mud was that it was made up of an awful lot of urine. I swear, I haven't seen that many penises in all my time at work!

Heh, there's enough wee-filled mud by the fence at V even in the middle of a heatwave... yeurgh, my toes are curling just remembering the time I tripped over ...

Far outweighed by brilliant memories of Killing Joke, Pixies, Primal Scream, even (LOL) Travis :-)

Highlights for me included Goo Goo Dolls (just to hear them sing Iris made me shiver), KT Tunstall, The Editors, (I hate to say it but) Kanye West, P!nk (who was bloody amazing) and the fab Paolo Nutini and James Morrison.
I was a whore and stayed at the main stage!

Nowt wrong with the main stage at V (usually), which is more than can be said for Glastonbury most of the time ;-)

I was at Hylands for the 3 weeks before V for the World Jamboree. When I left that field had grass on it despite the 40000 scouts that had been partying on it (Scouts know how to use portaloos).

Amazing fact - the Jamboree finished on the 9th of August and Hylands was handed back to the council for V to come on site on the 14th! A month to build, 5 days to take down...

I must read posts properly before commenting. You were in Staffordshire. In my defence that photo looks very similar to Hylands...

Isn't soaking your feet in Urine supposed to be good for the skin?

;-)

And thanks for the container info. Appreciated.
