Going cold turkey

I'm about to do something very risky this week.
Given my current financial situation (ahem) I've decided to cut out unnecessary expenditures in my lifestyle.
Also, given my current addiction, it wouldn't be a bad thing.
You see, I may be a tad addicted to Diet Coke. OK, more than a tad....

...I drink on average 5 cans a day (often more if I have them in) and I'm getting a little worried that this might be a bit excessive.

So, once the current multipack runs out, that's it. No more until I get through exams and the festival this weekend.

I intend to limit myself only to coffee, tea, orange juice and milk. That's it. No carbonated beverages at all.

Lord only knows how I'll be by the time OSCE rolls around...

How did the exam go the other day? What was it for? I'm looking forward to Download too, made even better by the fact that we get in for free!

I'm curious...can you get withdrawal symptoms from giving that up? I know when i didn't drink tea or coffee for a couple of days i got horrendous headaches. Maybe phase 'em out instead?!

Enjoy Download, anyways. Sadly i have an exam this Saturday!

Have you tried just drinking water? I find that limits expenditure hugely, particularly from the tap. Not that I could actually do without my daily tea and coffee (or both, sometimes more than once) and I do go through milk at a fair rate, so I'm being quite hypocritical here. Anyway, good luck giving up Diet Coke.

I recently discovered one of my study mates gave up caffeine for finals. Now, I give up caffeine... for the summer. Being a 3 cans plus 2 coffees kinda gal, I really admire your reserve!!

Good luck with that mate. If I don't have my 2 litre bottle of diet coke and 4 or 5 coffees a day I'm not fit for anything!
And a note for when you start back on it - a 2 litre bottle is £1.59, a six pack is about a fiver...
