The original title of this blog came after I was ranted at in the student union by someone who felt that students were a 'drain on society'.
It's stuck since then.
hahaha, it's alright, I don't see any histology! so you guys are still OK.
That's not *inner* geek, Merys darling, that's *outer* geek! And how come you can afford a spare room! Get an extra housemate in and reduce your rent!!!
Oh boy oh boy that photo takes me back...I did two years of medicine when I left school until I failed all the exams! Anatomy was my most spectacular failure. In a multiple choice exam (with negative marking for wrong answers) I managed to get just 10%. That was in 1985. It was a great joy in 1991, while back at the same university, to get 90% for a New Testament Greek exam. Somehow the fact the numbers added up to 100 made me feel that the first fiasco had been erased, healed, cleansed, or something else equally cathartic.I could never have been a doctor. I'm so squeamish! But oddly enough anatomy disection didn't affect me, perhaps because there was no blood and no pain for the person.Anyway good luck Merys and friends with all your studies. I enjoyed reading your blog. Glad I stumbled upon it.
