Inner geek


Not that my housemate and I are geeks... but this is the worktop in our spare room

That's not *inner* geek, Merys darling, that's *outer* geek! And how come you can afford a spare room! Get an extra housemate in and reduce your rent!!!

Oh boy oh boy that photo takes me back...

I did two years of medicine when I left school until I failed all the exams! Anatomy was my most spectacular failure. In a multiple choice exam (with negative marking for wrong answers) I managed to get just 10%. That was in 1985. It was a great joy in 1991, while back at the same university, to get 90% for a New Testament Greek exam. Somehow the fact the numbers added up to 100 made me feel that the first fiasco had been erased, healed, cleansed, or something else equally cathartic.

I could never have been a doctor. I'm so squeamish! But oddly enough anatomy disection didn't affect me, perhaps because there was no blood and no pain for the person.

Anyway good luck Merys and friends with all your studies. I enjoyed reading your blog. Glad I stumbled upon it.
